Koop Projects is proud to present a solo show by Patrick Tagoe Turkson, the multi-disciplinary artist, teacher and activist from Ghana.
Patrick Tagoe-Turkson uses the by-products and waste materials from commercial fishing and industrial production systems in his work.
He is known for his large scale wall sculptures made from flip flops - turning this most humble and ubiquitous form of throwaway footwear into intricate kaleidoscopic sculptures that play with the idea of textile as a medium.
The exhibition invites contemplation on the realities of physical existence and survival in the midst of material and environmental concerns.
